Russian and English quantifier determinants as textual and semantic units in the texts of the genre guidebook

The purpose of the study is to examine quantitative determinants as components of meaning-making and text-making. Literary text as a means of understanding the world can be a tool of pragmatic influence: propaganda, agitation, etc. Consequently, using a particular set of linguistic means the author has an impact on the recipient. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the complex analysis of textual and semantic, as well as pragmatic functions of quantitative determinants (English and Russian) in the texts of tourist discourse. The article also examines the sense- and text-forming functions of English and Russian quantitative determinants. As the result it has been revealed that quantor determinants are the linking elements, acting as clasps in the text, take part in the formation of the ending; they also form communicative cohesion of the text, contribute to the deployment of the semantic field of the utterance; they are the elements of the topic - mathematical sequence of the utterance, contributing to the implementation of the step-by-step thematization of the speech.
