Russian ballet on the pages of the magazine "Theater and life" (1928-1936)

Th e article is devoted to the magazine “Th eater and Life”, published in Paris, France, from 1928 to 1936, and is of scientifi c value as an additional source of information on the theatrical life of the Russian Abroad. For the fi rst time, the analysis of the magazine’s articles related to the creative activities of representatives of Russian ballet in emigration was carried out. When analyzing articles on Russian ballet, several main information areas were identifi ed: Russian Russian Ballet: 1) Articles related to the creative activities of the Paris Private Opera); 2) Articles devoted to the activities of ballet studios, schools opened by famous Russian dancers and dancers; 3) Articles devoted to events related to the ballet theater of Soviet Russia; 4) Th eatrical Chronicles: brief notes on events related to Russian dancers and dancers; 5) Th e arguments of outstanding Russian ballet fi gures about modern choreography (modern dance); 6) Articles devoted to S. P. Diaghilev’s entreprise and successor troupes that appeared aft er the impresario’s death; 7) Articles devoted to the work of famous choreographers, dancers and dancers in exile.
