The article discusses the role of the Russian ballet in the cultural epoch of the turn of the XX century. Based on the available visual records of the archival and museum collections the author considers the focus of interrelation of the national choreography with the artistic figurative interpretation of its synthetic whole against the background of the complex and contradictory processes at critical stages of the Russian culture history. The form of art analysis including consideration of various variants of the ballet and the plastic arts synthesis is selected. The inclination of the fine arts to the "bal-letness" and the typical trend of the Russian choreography of the turn of the century to draw upon the images of paintings, drawings and sculpture are the two sides of the single process. In this context "Diaghilev's Russian Ballet" with intense expressive plastic spectacular images was a bright frame of the final stage of the Russian Silver Age.
