Establishing and maintaining a communicative convention are important conditions for having a dialogue with an audience on equal terms. Intercultural exchange with communicants from foreign countries should be based on the adequate model of communication. There is a condition for breaking communication barriers for countries of post-Soviet information space. It is a commitment to communicative and cultural codes of social memory that unites people. However, the research demonstrates that the paradigm of Russian mass media is linked with the neoliberal European communication model. Being inadequate to the situation, it leads to the communicative asymmetry and simulation of intercultural dialogue.
