Russian national character: prerequisites for formation, nature and interaction with the Russian orthodox idea

The article considers the nature and the basic prerequisites for Russian national character formation. Special attention is paid to religious, Orthodox factor. It had a great influence on the mental charcteristics of the Russian people, their lifestyle and values. The author investigates the interaction of national character and Russian Orthodox ideas. This paper analyzes the tractates of Russian and European philosophers and philologists of the XIX-XXI centuries: V. G. Belinsky, N. A. Berdyaev, M. Weber, B. Vysheslavtsev et al.
