The article reveals the role of choreographic art in Russian folk culture; its relationship with ethnocultural and historical traditions is revealed using the example of the choreographic composition “Khokhloma Carousel” in the creative practice of outstanding choreographers and People’s Artist of Russia, Doctor of Cultural Studies, creator and artistic director of the Moscow State Academic Theater of Theater “Gzhel” Vladimir Mikhailovich Zakharov. The composition brings to life the folk craft “Khokhloma”, where symbols of folk art are used, demonstrating the eternity of movement, which is a circle dance. The article also describes in detail the design of the dance composition with its unique choreographic features, which reflect the nature of this folk craft. The importance and necessity of staging this kind of dance compositions is emphasized, because with the help of choreography it is more spectacular, more visual and easier to show all the richness of Russian folk culture, which in turn requires the choreographer to deeply immerse himself in the folk culture of the region with which he wants to introduce the viewer. This contributes to the cultural education of the people and raising the patriotic spirit of the population.
