In the present article, the author discusses one of the most interesting episodes in the history of Russian-Dutch church relations at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1719, the printing press at the St. Alexander Nevsky Lavra published an edition of the New Testament in Dutch and Church Slavic. This event crowned the first stage in the history of ecclesiastic and literary relations between Russia and the Netherlands that began during the Petrine era.
