The modern condition and development prospects of the fishing industry and fish product market are analyzed. It was established that the dynamic growth of the fish industry in the Republic of Karelia contributes to the fish product expansion. The growth of the fish industry is also instrumental in meeting the demand of the population for this product, and in the decrease of the fish product import.
