In article features of the educational literature applied at rural schools of pre-revolutionary Russia are considered. Examples of sets of printing textbooks in various subjects and levels of educational institutions are given. On the basis of archival materials and a reference media the conclusion about a priority of the religious picture of the world approved among the simple people is drawn.
