Throughout its historical trajectory, the phenomenon of professionalism has undergone transformations congruent with the demands of each era, invariably experiencing sacralization and retaining a singular individual understanding of one's working life. Historically, true professionals have been characterized by a lack of egocentric motivation and a commitment to continuous self-improvement, underpinned by a spiritual aspiration. Modern perspectives on this institution are evolving. Increasingly, researchers and laypersons alike are contemplating the distinguishing characteristics that differentiate professionals from routine task performers, elucidating the rationale behind their constitution as a distinct social group, and understanding the elevated significance of the ethical dimension of their work in the present context. This article undertakes an analysis of the evolution of the concept of professionalism and examines its constituent elements, particularly with reference to civil servants. This specialized social group significantly influences the well-being of the state and society, thereby rendering the analysis especially pertinent. Specifically, the study aims to determine if imbuing the concept of professionalism with sacred values is an imperative for upholding societal stability and security in the 21st century.
