The article is considered some aspects of professional development of staff of internal affairs agencies through the mechanism of self-knowledge where the main means of implementation are the identification and the reflection. The typical issues in the implementation of self-knowledge and ways of their passing are defined in the article. The article concludes that two interrelated mechanisms of self-knowledge are the reflection and the identification. The identification gives the opportunity to assimilate the perceptible in others and in oneself and the reflection, liking to escape, gives the opportunity to analyze the perceptible from different positions, establishing the cause-and-effect relations.
