The article presents an analysis of various aspects of health-saving behavior, issues of adaptation and social development of a person. Approaches to the study of archetypal images and mechanisms of their activation are considered. They are an important component of the study of socio-cultural self-regulation of health-saving behavior in the context of the “sociology of life". The instinctive features of the individual's behavior in connection with the social system are analyzed using the classification of K. Pearson, which is based on the methodological approach of K. Jung. The article describes the key characteristics of the health-saving behavior of archetypal groups, identified by the criteria of focusing on the development of individuals, groups, organizations and focusing on establishing a balance of fundamental motivational categories: stability, belonging, achievements and self-realization. The importance of a healthy lifestyle is updated and the relevance of adaptation strategies in maintaining health is shown.
