Such a socio-political phenomenon as self-government has its roots in the era of primitiveness, when human consciousness was just beginning to form. Historically, the self-government of ancient clans was the primary form of their self-organization, which, in addition to the biological characteristics of the human species, was also pushed by many other factors. It was in ancient times, largely due to the duration of the primitive era, that a psychological type was formed, aimed at the internal interests of the community and predisposed to a system of power and management, which in principle can be defined as self-government. The article substantiates this point of view.
