Self perception in skin diseased patients

Using a quantitative evaluation questionnaire it was shown that patients with both somatic and psychosomatic nature of the disease have greater satisfaction with "head", and lowest with skin and integument. With projective method Gomunkulus by Anna Stmtnovich a significant increase of the parts number in self body representation in patients was found. This indicates the predominance of intellectualization as a personality defense mechanism and role of self body image in intrapersonal communication. The obtained data can be used in the creation of psychotherapeutic support programmes for persons seeking with dermatological problems, as well as for the prevention of such problems as predictors.
