The impostor False Chilbudius - an adventurer or a tool for the christianization of the East Slavs in the back of Justinian I?

The article is devoted to the problem of the appearance of the impostor False Hilbudius, which can be considered, according to the author, as a failed instrument of Emperor Justinian for the Christian mission among the Slavs. The author confirms the hypothesis of the Gothic origin of the true Hilbudius. The author also examines the ethnogenesis of the Ants in the broad context of the problem of transformation of the late Sarmatians.
