Sanctions: the history of development from ancient times to the twentieth century

In the article, the author examines the causes of the actual inequality of participants in international relations, the prerequisites for the emergence of instruments of interstate forceful coercion, provides historical examples of sanctions pressure, starting from ancient times up to the XX century.
