Sanctions: an analysis of challenges and opportunities for the country

International sanctions - is a special form of international legal responsibility for the breach by a state of international agreements. Are economic and political measures of coercion applied by States and international organizations against States who evade responsibility for committing international crimes. International sanctions are considered to be intermediate to form a state, or part of its territory, between verbal condemnation and the direct application of force. The subject of research is the sanctions regime as a source of economic problems and the potential opportunities and benefits for the country. The purpose of this study is analysis of existing sanctions and ways of reaction to them by the state. The paper applies methods of analysis of actual and historical data, categorizing and comparing and mapping the value of different derivative effects, which allowed to systematize and evaluate the sanctions regime. Current state of the economy in Russia is in a stagnant period. Western sanctions are negative in nature and in many respects their action has a negative impact on future prospects and in the present circumstances the government should either negotiate with the countries that have introduced and to join the sanctions, or review the economic model for the entire country. In the long term, if current trends of sanctions can adversely-affect the Russian economy and ordinary Russians.
