Hog mange on the farms of the Republic of Tatarstan

The paper presents the results of investigations of hog mange spreading on farms in the Republic of Tatarstan. It was established that invasion of Tatarstan republic swine breeding farms with Sarcoptes suis itch mite reached in average about 4,5%. Among them 3,9% are already fell ill with it, but 8,9% of swine are affected by it. The invasion take place usually in autumn-winter period. The disease is spread by sows infecting new born piglets. Piglets affected by itch mites fell ill particularly because of weaning period ending at colostral immunity breaking and changing the conditions. First of all the offspring is being ill in the separate cells, then the invasion is spreading within the pen. Hog mange has a progressive character and in the course of time the increase of affected animals` number and aggressiveness of the disease is mentioned.
