Balancing budgets of subjects of the Russian Federation and assessment of the risk of loss of financial stability (on the example of subjects of the Northwestern federal district)

The article describes the issues affecting the actual and effective mechanisms of ensuring the balance and reducing the risk of loss of financial stability of the budgets of the Russian Federation federal districts on the materials of the Northwestern Federal District. Based on the results of analysis of the financial condition of the budgets of the Northwestern Federal District, as well as on the assessment of the dynamics of the indicator of the balance and financial stability of their budgets for 2015-2026, the directions of ensuring the balance and improving the financial stability of budgets by optimizing a number of income and expense items are formulated.
