Sales is one of the important directions in the company's activities in modern conditions. The purpose of the study is to reveal the essence of the concept of sales as an economic category. The paper clarifies the concept of sales as an activity of an enterprise in the field of commodity-money relations, which is aimed at meeting the needs of buyers and making a profit for producers. The main characteristics of sales as an enterprise activity are revealed: systemic nature; implementation in commodity markets; customer satisfaction; focus on making a profit by manufacturers and others.
