Seismic monitoring of the technical condition of standardized buildings in Ulan-Bator

The article presents the main landmarks of seismological studies in Mongolia, statistical data on seismological events over a long period of time (about 100 years). By comparing the 2011survey data with the previous microdynamic measurements of natural oscillation periods (H. Kawase, et al., 2000), the general level of accumulated seismic, temperature and other deformations of large-panel 5-9 storey buildings in Ulan-Bator is estimated. Given statistical data indicate an increase of strong earthquakes in the vicinity of Ulan-Bator and the need for preventive measures and realistic assessment of the possible damage reduction.
