The 55th anniversary of the section of regional studies of the Krasnodar house of scientists and engineers

The article of the head of Section of Regional Studies of the Krasnodar house of scientists and engineers is devoted to the anniversary of this local lore association. The author recreates the main periods of the section's history. It is noted that its creators and active members were Kuban well-known scientists of various disciplinary affiliation: N. V. Anfimov, I. S. Kosenko, V. S. Ochapovsky, G. S. Shakhova, and enthusiasts of local lore - I. P. Lotyshev, T. F. Bereznyak, L. N. Eliseeva, S. A. Levichev. For many decades, the section of Regional Studies works closely with specialists of the Krasnodar historical and archaeological museum named after E. D. Felitsyn and the Krasnodar regional scientific library named after A.S. Pushkin. The guests of the meetings of the section were Kuban cosmonauts, writers, journalists, and historians. Books, newspaper and magazine articles of the members of the Section of Regional Studies contribute to the popularization of the cultural heritage of the Krasnodar region.
