Celadonite mineralizaton in efusive rocks of Midle Urals

Detailed mineralogical investigations were carried out for green micaceous globules from welded tuff of West Urals. Obtained data allow defining this vesicules as celadonite globules with a small amount of chlorite and interstratified chlorite/nontronite. Infrared spectrum and d(060) = 1.511 Å corresponds to celadonite features. High content of Al3+ both in octahedral and tetrahedral positions of mica structure allows determining it as aluminoceladonite and low K+ brings together with interlayer-deficient dioctahedral micas. Presence of a small amount of pyrophyllite in globules also confirms mineral formation at hydrothermal conditions.
