The selection as a method of the social construction of reality in television news outlets (based on the programmer «Vremya» of the First channel)

The article proposes a substantiation of the hypothesis that news production is a standardizational process of social construction of reality with the help of selection in accordance with selector matrix. The author describes the function of four main selectors and three minor ones. Thus the news selection provides the balance of different media agents' interests and other factors.
