In the article the results of winter wheat breeding in Omsk region presented. Cultivation of winter wheat in the area has a long history. In the structure of the area under wheat crop can occupy to 15 %. This culture has several important advantages. Winter wheat exceeds spring wheat on yield, grain quality and nutritional value. It is more efficient use of bioclimatic resources of the region. An important role in the successful development of winter wheat culture assigned the variety. Development of genotypes with high winter hardiness, productivity and valuable attributes and properties is promising. The varieties Omskaya ozimaya, Siberian niva, Omskaya 4 and Omskaya 5 are included in the State Register of the Russian Federation in the West Siberian region. A brief description of these varieties offered. The varieties of Omskaya ozimaya and Siberian niva are included in the State Register of the Russian Federation in the West Siberian region in 1989 and 1992. They are widely used in agricultural production. The variety Omskaya 4 has the quality grain at the level of valuable. The variety Omskaya 5 is widespread on Altai region. A new variety of winter wheat Priirtyshskaya is developed. The variety exceeds standard Omskaya 4 on economically valuable attributes and properties. The variety is resistant to shattering and lodging, resistant to drought. It has a high winter hardiness and high grain yield. The variety stably forms a high quality grain. The variety of winter wheat Priirtyshskaya was transferred for the State Variety in 2013 and tested at the present time in for the West and East Siberian regions.
