Selection and seed breeding foundation for the implementation of technologies of JSC "Schelkovo Agrohim" in the agriculture in Russia

The development of the selective factor in the adaptive crop production, which determines the varietal production strategy, occupies one of the central positions in the system of decisions aimed at improving agriculture of Russia. The article reveals the main organizational steps of the company's selection work on the main field crops in the Central Black Earth area - winter wheat, soybeans, sunflower and sugar beet. The company's selection and seed resources from various geographical locations of Russia - Krasnodar, Voronezh, Orel and other regions - are involved in the large-scale work. The methodological approaches used for the selection of promising selection material are shown. Special attention here is paid to the assessment of environmental plasticity and adaptability of new varieties and their individuality on some economic and useful features. Based on the combination of selection programs of "Schelkovo Agrohim" into a single closed cycle of the technological approaches with the genetic potential of new varieties, the algorithm of selection of prospective selection material, as well as the formation of a technological passport of new varieties transmitted in the agricultural production, specification of individual technological techniques that have an effective impact on their realization of genetic potential, is shown. The company's systematic approach to the formation of a single production package predetermines the progressive development of the crop industry in Russia. According to the results of the development of the selection direction, 23 hybrids of sugar beet and 11 sunflower hybrids have been introduced in the State Register of Breeding Achievements. In 2020, the State Variety testing received first two varieties of winter wheat - Emerald Dubowitzky and DF 2020 for testing, which provided their brief characteristics on the economic characteristics.
