Self-made man as a successful person’s characteristic in Russian linguoculture (based on mass media texts of 1940s-1980s)

The article presents a linguocultural gender study devoted to the construction of a cognitive scenario of a successful person in the USSR in the postwar period on the basis of an interpretive analysis of the texts of the Soviet media. The author demonstrates the relationship of the Soviet image of a successful person with the concepts of success story, self-made man, characteristic of American linguoculture. The prospects of the study, in particular, the study of cognitive scenarios of a successful person of other periods and the comparison of the results with the similar studies in American linguoculture are substantiated.
