Selfie as cultural phenomenon and creative practice in discourse current historiographical knowledge

Currently, the culture is expressed by "iconic turn", which connected with increasing prevalence of the role of the visual over the verbal. The phenomenon of photographic self-portraits (selfie) is one of the most striking manifestations of such the turn. In this article we focus on the problem of existence of the image as a specific symbolic design art digital industry and visual communication in the context of current research on the subject. Representative articulations for this analysis are patterns of selfie phenomenon.
