Semantic properties of phraseological units constituting the macrofield of measure and degree of a static characteristic (on the material of the Russian and English languages)

The article dwells upon the phraseosemantic field of degree and measure of a staticfeatures in the Russian and English languages constituted by phraseological units. Theauthor describes the structure of the field and its interaction with other fields. The authoralso analyses semantic properties of phraseological units of measure and degree, the basiswhy they are included in the macrofield. He singles out components that constitute themeaning of this class of phraseological units. The present article introduces and justifiesthe term “phraseological intensifier”.
