Semantic potential of English taxis prepositions

The present paper is devoted to the description of the semantic potential of English monotaxical and polytaxical prepositions during, after, before, since, untill, till, following, inconsequence of, on, upon, at, by, with, through, acting as taxis explicators in utterances with prepositional deverbatives. English monotaxical prepositions during, after, before, since, untill, till, following, in consequence of are used in a temporal sense and express primar-taxical categorical situations of simultaneity, precedence and succession. English polytaxical prepositions of circumstantial semantics on, upon, at, by, with, through mark several variants of taxic categorical simultaneity situations: prima-taxic and various secondary-taxic ones, in particular, causal-taxic, conditional-taxic, instrumental-taxic, modal-taxic. The monotaxical preposition of circumstantial semantics in is used in a modal sense and expresses one kind of secundary-taxical categorical situations of simultaneity: modal-taxical categorical situations. Monotaxical prepositions of circumstantial semantics because of, despite, inspite of, for mark such second-tactical categorical situations of simultaneity as causal-tactical, concessive-tactical, and final-tactical.
