The article considers the semantics of the tree of life of the Slavic peoples - Russians and Ukrainians. The analysis of the symbolism of the tree is conducted from Slavic mythology, the first written sources, the Bible, apocryphal conversations. The role and symbolism of the tree of life in oral folk art are analyzed.
