The article deals with the semantics of the experiencer, which denotes the animate event participant as a sentient, reflective and feeling person. In this work the specificity of semantics of the subject-experiencer is analysed and the relation between the subject-experiencer, as a carrier of these meanings, and the type of the predicate and the whole sentence structure is described on the data of the English and Russian languages. The author describes a number of case forms in Russian by which a meaning of the subject-experiencer is represented. Formal and semantic characteristics of the subject-experiencer are regarded as results of differences in the Russian and English world views.
