The article is devoted to the study of contextual meanings of the lexeme znoj in the idiolect of F.I. Tyutchev. Variations of the meaning are interpreted with consideration to dominating ambivalent pairs of cultural concepts 'freedom, ease - no-freedom, burden'; 'heat - underground springs, depth' at the background.
