The novel "Witch" by A.P.Chekhov demonstrates the way the ideas, images and motives typical of the 'snow-storm' text of the Russian literature of the XIX century develop. The inversion of the 'snow-storm' plot and uncoincidence of the mythological and fantastic plans with reality reveal the spiritual insolvency of Chekhov's characters.
