Semantics and functional peculiarities of the speech of the characters of English detective works of the beginning of the XXI century

The article is devoted to the examples of the semantics and functional peculiarities of the speech of the characters of contemporary English detective works (based on the works of M. Connelly and R. Galbraith), as well as to representation of the speech portrait of the literary image of the character, which allows to penetrate deeper into the author's unique style and understand the features of creation of a color of artistic images.
