The article discusses the relevance and some issues of specificity of the family catering business at the present stage of the market economy development. The authors consider the criteria, according to which the business can be called a family one, as well as designate the target group consuming products and services of catering family enterprises with a narrow range of culinary products. The authors advance a legislative initiative on the adoption of a normative act formalizing the family business concept and regulating the activities of such enterprises.
