The article recreates the features of the reflection of the Seven Years’ War in the memory space of the Russian Empire in the early XX century. The authors hypothesize that due to the ambiguous results of the war of 1756–1763, a number of victories of the Russian army fell into the category of forgotten or inconvenient, remaining on the periphery of memory space during the early XX century. The study was carried out on the basis of an analysis of office records, regimental histories, periodical materials, and opinion-based publications. It was concluded that from 1900 to 1914, the state authorities carried out the selection of recalled events, despite the general rise in the interest in military history. The commemorative boom of the early XX century did not affect the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gross- Jägersdorf, the Battle of Kunersdorf, and other victories of the Russian army during the Seven Years’ War. During the period under review, the memory policy of the Russian state was aimed at perpetuating events reflecting the greatness of the autocratic system or the heroism of the population. Despite the absence of jubilee celebrations in 1907–1910, the complete oblivion of the Seven Years’ War did not happen, thanks to the activities of other actors. A promising area for further research is the study of the mobilization potential of the historical memory of the 1756–1763 war conflict during the First World War.
