Semiotics in the pictorial arts: reading masterpieces

In the article the author considers the postmodern concept of perception of the world, based on semiotic knowledge of the surrounding reality, and applies it to the analysis of works of fine art, in particular to the picture of M. V. Nesterov " The love potion". This approach allows the author to identify different semantic layers of the work, for example, plot, symbolic, etc., and, analyzing each of them to see the deep relationships between the elements of the whole.
