The study presents the results of the sociological survey of parents whose children with special needs have been rehabilitated in the Early Intervention Service of the Applied Research Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation (Moscow). The emphasis is placed on the internal and external resources that can be used by the family for early assistance to the child. The development zones of early intervention based on the needs and opportunities of the family, child and social organizations are identified. The research notes the prospects of the School for a Family with a Disabled Child centered at the Intervention Service, the supervision of such a family by the Intervention Service, its development based on the revitalization of the resources of the family and relatives of children for their more successful socialization. The study highlights the necessity of teaching self-help techniques to parents, the opportunities for mutual assistance and social support of the family (including the remote form).
