Statement of the problem. The problem of ensuring psychological well-being is of particular importance for first-year students. Modern scientific discourse presents information on the role of subjective characteristics in the development of psychological well-being. However, for the youth sample, the role of psychological separation from parents is not sufficiently taken into account. Identifying the relationship between the parameters of psychological well-being and separation from parents will help determine the targets of psychological assistance to students. The purpose of the article is to identify the presence and nature of the relationship between psychological well-being and separation from parents of first-year students. Methodology (materials and methods). The methodology of the study consists of: theoretical approaches to understanding the essence of age-related crises; analysis and generalization of the works of foreign and Russian scientists, a) in the field of studying the essence and structure of the phenomenon of psychological well-being; b) on the issue of studying the process of separation from parents and its features during early adolescence. Research results. The features of the structural components of psychological well-being and separation from parents of first-year girls were revealed. The results showed that one third of the students have a low level of psychological well-being. A direct significant relationship was found between some indicators of psychological well-being and the parameters of separation from parents: between self-acceptance and conflict independence from a mother; between autonomy, environmental management, goals in life, the general indicator of psychological well-being and conflict independence from a mother; a tendency towards a significant relationship between self-acceptance and emotional independence from a father. Conclusion. The study showed the existence of a relationship between indicators of psychological well-being and the process of separation of first-year female students from their parents. The results provide grounds for assuming the possibility of achieving psychological well-being of students by optimizing the process of separation from parents. This aspect is especially important in the work on ensuring the psychological well-being of out-of-town first-year female students, for whom the process of separation is accompanied by a change of residence and separation from the family.
