Seriality of Russian portrets of 17 century

The author explores the causes by appearance of large portrets series in russian painting of 17 century and connects this phenomenon with comprehension of individuality in russian culture of 17 century. The paper presents posthumous and gala portrets of russian tsars. The both portret's forms embodid the consept of sacred nature of russian tsars, and so their portrets required strict canonical composition, that was fixed in portret's series.
