Frontline everyday during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945: daily service perspective

This article describes and analyzes the frontline in terms of daily service activities of state and military leadership of the USSR, as well as the activities individually undertaken by the military in order to satisfy their vital survival needs. Based on the analysis ofarchival sources and personal communication, conclusion is made concerning the specific nature of service in the extreme warfare conditions, and its characteristic features are identified.
