This article analyzes the role and significance of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) as a strategic national priority of the Russian Federation. The Arctic Region is of paramount importance in both the national and global context due to its geopolitical, military-strategic, and resource potential. The NSR serves as a vital artery for the entire Arctic and Far North. Internationally, the Northern Sea Route provides the shortest route between European countries and the Far East. With proper infrastructure development, it could become a competing international transport corridor. The Arctic is considered a strategically important region not only by Russia, but also by other countries such as the United States and China. This region could become a platform for geopolitical competition between nations, making the Northern Sea Route crucial for Russia's national security.
