Volunteering studies remain relevant due to the constant transformation of its social practices, resulting from the challenges of time, changing needs of people seeking help, the paradigms of volunteerism, and their characteristics. The paper considers volunteering as a social activity that is spatially and temporally organized and has a number of topological features. The emphasis on the value component of the worldview of volunteering guides its understanding as a sociocultural phenomenon. Construction of the axiological characteristics of volunteering is determined by a number of factors in the organization of society as a system: from the mega- to the microlevel. The social space of volunteer practices can change its localization configuration, which is determined by the content and types of activities, as well as the interaction of agents and actors of volunteering. The author understands the construction of socio-cultural values as a creative process of creating new values or modifying existing values in accordance with the current needs of the time and with an orientation towards the future.
