The article is devoted to the problem of the determination and chronological subdivision of so called Shabarakh Сulture which was coined by R. Ch. Anrews, M. Gabori, Y. Kozlowsky, D. Mania and A. P. Okladnikov on the series of localities in Southern Mongolia in the first part and middle of XX century. In spite of the extensive literature, different approach to the description and technical-typological interpretation of stone industry and pottery complex, absence of carbon dates, clear stratigraphy cross-sections and palinology do not allow to identify these materials as an original culture or sequence of Mesolithic-Neolithic cultures. The current stage of understanding of the phenomenon matches with the term «Shabarakh Complex».
