Shanghai organization for co-operation and future of the Central Asia

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), established in June 2001, unites Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which hold similar views on world development trends and are ready to jointly solve international and regional problems. Its tasks also include strengthening regional economic and cultural cooperation. The SCO, as V. Putin noted, does not oppose itself to NATO, it seeks to positively solve specific problems in the interests of member countries.
