The article deals with the mechanisms of perception of spontaneous monological texts belonging to the two types of speech: narration and reasoning. Hierarchy and heterarchy of the text structural components are regarded as the main condition for the existence of the texts which meet the principles of the functional-semantic types of speech classification.
