Shijing and the genesis of Confucian philosophy: the concept of Michael Hunter

The article is devoted to the analysis of Michael Hunter’s concept, set out in his monograph «The poetics of Early Chinese thought: How the Shijing shaped the Chinese philosophical tradition», according to which the Shijing (Classic of Poetry) is a fundamental text that forms the semantic field of the ancient Chinese philosophy. The author analyzes the methodological foundations of Hunter’s research, characterizes the key points of his concept and the argumentation behind them.
