"The scale of the identifiers of townspeople" as the method of qualitative urbanistic studies

In the article is raised the question about the relationship of the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the urban population of Siberia as special social and territorial generality. The analysis of the degree of its inclusion into the urban means of life is most promising in this connection. The scale of identifiers is developed taking into account the attributive and essential characteristics of the latter. The new procedure of qualitative urbanistic studies is approved on the basis of the mass working of the recollections, assembled as a result of the realization of author's project «The living history: people memoirs». The obtained models (statistical and information) made it possible to isolate three categories of townspeople, conditionally designated as «true townspeople», «forming townspeople» and «townspeople – not townspeople».
