Nowadays, the issue of forming the foundations of patriotism, educating the younger generation and schoolchildren in the spirit of love for their Homeland is especially topical in Russia. This issue has arisen with renewed vigor with the beginning of a Special Military Operation in Ukraine. The article aims to recall the heroic events of the Great Patriotic War, specifically highlighting the active participation of school students from gold mining regions of Yakutia in supporting the frontline efforts. During the war, children contributed in various ways: they worked in gold mining operations (under the guidance of teachers and parents), participated in the Timur movement, supported the families of front-line soldiers, gathered aid for the front and those affected by occupation, and engaged in other socially beneficial activities. Such efforts by school students not only provided tangible support to the front but also cultivated a sense of love and pride for their country among the younger generation. Young people matured quickly and became patriots of their Homeland.
